When it comes to filing an insurance claim on your home or business, there’s no better roofing company to work with than ECO Roof and Solar. We’re here to make the claims process as stress-free as possible by providing you with a dedicated insurance billing specialist who will ensure you receive every penny you’re entitled to.
Making Insurance Claims Simple: Our 5-Step Process
We understand how overwhelming insurance claims can be. That’s why we’ve developed a straightforward, 5-step process to guide you through every stage, ensuring you get the coverage you deserve.
Step 1: Call ECO Roof and Solar
Call us today at 303-484-9854 for a thorough roof damage inspection. Our experts will assess the extent of any damage caused by wind, hail, fire, or water.
Step 2: Confirm Damage and File Your Claim
Once we confirm the storm damage, we’ll assist you in filing your insurance claim. Our team will walk you through the paperwork and ensure everything is filed correctly.
Step 3: Set Appointment with Insurance Adjuster
After filing your claim, your insurance company will assign a field adjuster to inspect the damage. Be sure to notify your ECO Project Manager at least 24-48 hours in advance of the adjuster’s appointment. Your ECO Project Manager will accompany the adjuster on the day of inspection to ensure that all damage is documented and noted.
Step 4: Get Every Penny You Deserve
Once the adjuster inspects your roof, we’ll advocate on your behalf to ensure that all damage is covered. Our insurance billing specialists are trained to handle even the most challenging claims, ensuring that you receive the full payout for all covered repairs.
Step 5: Review the Scope of Work and Set a Construction Date
Once your claim is approved, you’ll receive an Actual Cash Value (ACV) check within 7-10 business days. Depending on whether you own your property outright or have a mortgage, your next steps will differ:
- If You Own Your Property Outright: Review the scope of work with your ECO Project Manager, finalize your contract, and schedule construction.
- If You Have a Mortgage: If your mortgage company is listed on the check, you’ll need to complete an authorization form with your ECO Project Manager, endorse the check, and send it to your mortgage company for their endorsement. Once processed, the check will be deposited, and we can begin work.
Understanding Your Insurance Coverage
Understanding your insurance coverage is crucial to getting the most out of your claim. Below are key terms you need to know:
Actual Cash Value (ACV)
ACV is the cost to repair or replace damaged property, minus depreciation. This is typically the first check you will receive. The second check will be issued when the work is complete and the final invoices are submitted to your insurer.
Replacement Cost Coverage (RCC)
RCC covers the cost to replace damaged property with new materials of like kind and quality. This is an optional coverage that may need to be purchased separately. Be sure to check with your insurance provider.
Code Coverage
Local building codes may change, requiring you to meet higher standards when repairing your roof. Code coverage can protect you from out-of-pocket expenses related to these changes. If you have this coverage, you won’t have to pay the “increased cost” of meeting new local building codes.

A homeowner’s insurance policy can provide comprehensive protection against damages to a house and its contents. Colorado law does not require a consumer to purchase homeowners insurance, but if your home is financed, the mortgage company will require coverage to protect their interest in the property.
There are various kinds of insurance including homeowner, condominium, renters and mobile home. All of these provide property and liability coverage. The property coverage will insure against perils such as fire, wind, hail, vandalism, and theft. The liability coverage protects you in the event someone other than the insured is injured on your property.
Keep in mind that the most homeowner policies will not insure you for floods. If you need to purchase flood insurance contact your company representative. Your policy contract will explain all of the insured coverages and exclusions.
It is important that you read your policy contract and understand its limitations.
If you have any questions about your homeowner coverage contact your insurance representative or contact us at ECO Roof and Solar!
